Routing Arrival Cochin - Alleppey (House Boat) - Munnar - Madurai - Periyar - Kumarakom - Kovalam - Cochin Departure

"Spice Route" trip give a unique experience about South India. Spice Route tour give people who like to travel with others the opportunity to experience a taste of traditional, authentic South India. Accompanied by a Western Tour Escort with extensive knowledge of the country and local guides, there is plenty of scope to explore on your own during periods of free time. This program will start from Cochi the ancient trading center though the Western Ghat as Munnar, Madurai & Komarakom. Madurai gives you a vast experience, as the devotee visits the Minakshi Temple. The Kovalm beach give you a relax vacation.


DAY 01 :

Arrival Cochin-Trikunnahpuza (60 Km)

Upon arrival at Kochi (Cochin) meet to our representative and drive to Trikunnahpuza,

  • On arrival check in to the hotel. For the rest of the day, have some time for relaxation
  • Afternoon Sikara ride at the canal to watch birds & visit the local villages together with temples visits

Overnight stay at the resort.


DAY 02 :

Trikunnahpuza-Alleppey (Houseboat)

Morning drive to Pallathuruthy, through the rice fields, and on arrival check in to the houseboat,

  • Take lunch on the houseboat. Enjoy the boating, lakes, canals, estuaries and the deltas of forty-four rivers that drain into the Arabian Sea

Rest of the time some recreation at houseboat. Overnight at houseboat.


DAY 03 :

Alleppey (Houseboat) - Munnar (105 Kms)

Morning boat ride through the backwaters to Alleppy.

  • On the way experience activities on the back-waters and the village life on the banks of the back-waters. Later disembarkement drive to Munnar, and once done have an overnight stay at the hotel.


DAY 04 :

Munnar

Breakfast at the hotel, than start off with local sightseeing of the places in Munnar:

  • Pothamedu, one of the major plantation hubs of Munnar
  • Devikulam, is said to be the out-of-the-world experience among exotic flora and fauna, cool mountain air, and velvet lawns. An idyllic hill station
  • Mattupetty Lake, created by a small hydroelectric dam project, this lake is situated at a distance of around 13 km away from Munnar

Rest of the time visit tea museum and local market, and once done with day’s activity take an overnight stay at the hotel.


DAY 05 :

Munnar-Madurai (140 Kms)

After breakfast proceed to Madurai, en route explore the local villages, town and school.

  • Upon arrival check in to the hotel, rest of the time visit Madurai, Temples, Museum and local market
  • Meenakshi Amman Temple
  • Thirumalai Nayak Mahal
  • Mahatma Gandhi Setu

For the rest of the day, enjoy visiting the local market. Once done, take an overnight stay at the hotel.


DAY 06 :

Madurai-Periyar (Thekkaday) (75 Kms)

After breakfast proceed to Periyar (Kumili) through the western ghat, en route visit the villages, small town and rice, banana, grapes fields. On arrival check in to the hotel and for rest of the time visit 'Spice Garden' and local market, overnight at hotel.


DAY 07 :

Periyar-Kumarakom

Early in the morning commence the wild safari, boating in the Periyar Lake, around the lake you will see the wild elephant, languor (monkey) and bison. Drive back to hotel and after breakfast drive to Alleppey. Once recahed, check in to the Houseboat, enjoy your meal together with boating. Overnight stay at houseboat.


DAY 08 :

Kumarakom

After breakfast dismemberment from the houseboat, check in to the Resort.

  • Kumarakom is the home to a wide variety of flora and fauna
  • After noon visit "Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary" which is a noted bird sanctuary where many species of migratory birds visit
  • The bird sanctuary extends over 14 acres (57,000 m²), and came into existence following preservation efforts from the government

Ones done with day’s activity take an overnight stay at the resort.


DAY 09 :

Kumarakom-Kovalam (175 kms)

After breakfast drive to Kovalam, and on arrival check in to the hotel or resort, rest of the time have some relaxation.


DAY 10 :

Kovalam

Full day leisure for relax, Yoga, Meditation & Ayurveda massage. Overnight at Resort.


DAY 11 :

Kovalam

Full day leisure for relax, Yoga, Meditation & Ayurveda massage. Overnight at Resort.


DAY 12 :

Kovalam - Cochin (175 kms)

Early morning after the breakfast leave for Cochin (Kochi) and upon arrival check in to the hotel and for rest of the day, enjoy some leisure time and take an overnight stay at the hotel.


DAY 13 :

Cochin Departure

Morning proceed for sightseeing

  • Visit Mattancherry Palace,
  • Jewish Synagogue,
  • Willingdon Island,
  • Chinese fishing nets,
  • St. Francis Church and local market

After dinner transfer to airport take onward flight. End of your exciting tour.
